Makeover and photo shoot in Orange County with model Jhoanne

Last fall I moved back to Orange County from Texas after being away for six years. The weather is so refreshing and the beautiful scenery is endless, which makes me want to be outside all the time! I met recently with model Jhoanne (also from Orange County) to do an outdoor photo shoot right in my corner of Laguna Hills. The natural setting makes for a great backdrop to the photos.

Makeup - Earth Tones

Jhoanne is obviously gorgeous and I can't get enough of her smile!! For her eye makeup, I used some Yaby pearl paints and eyeshadows in green, gold, and warm brown colors to go along with the surrounding earth tones. I applied some extra long lashes to really lift and open the eyes. For her blush and lips I chose fairly natural colors - Rimmel nude lipliner with a little Mac creme cup lipstick in the center, and Mac Melba blush on the cheeks. To create a soft glow on the cheeks, I added Becca's highlighter in Champagne Pop

Newport Beach Photo Shoot with Model Ali - Summer Makeup and Hair

Ali is a local OC model that I recently worked with to take some really fun beach photos. This was my first time taking photos myself on the beach, so it was definitely a learning experience! There was a lot of climbing rocks and rolling around in the sand, which Ali graciously went along with, and by the end we were cold and covered in wet sand, but oh-so happy!

Makeup - bronze, copper, gold

These colors are universally flattering on all skin, hair, and eye colors, and I especially love them for summer! Easy to pair with a bright lip, or a soft pink/nude like we did for this shoot.

One of my favorite palettes for these copper and gold tones is the Sleek Sunset Palette. Super affordable and AMAZING quality! I'm telling you, these perform just as well as some of the pricier brands.

To get that gorgeous glow on her skin, I used Becca's Champagne Pop on the high points of the face. To blur pores and to even out the bronzer, blush, and highlight, I used Graftobian HD dual finish powders. I LOVE these powders for their build-able (yet not cakey) coverage and smooth application.

For her hair, I curled it first, then pulled it up into this pony using a pull through braid technique. Once we let down her hair, the curls held just enough to create that perfectly textured beach hair.

Keep an eye out for my next post like this coming soon!
