Getting ready for 2019 Brides!!

BOW_DigitalBadge_2019_120x120.png

This year was my second year being listed on The Knot and my second year receiving the Knot Best of Weddings! I am so grateful to everyone who took the time to leave me a review. I know when I am shopping around for ANYTHING I go to the reviews first. This is super helpful for me as a vendor and for prospective brides wanting to get other’s opinions.

Some of my 2018 brides and bridal parties..

I love looking back at the pictures and reliving all the glam and the many sweet moments. I am so lucky to work with such beautiful and warm people. Thank you thank you!

New things in 2019

2019 is going to be a busy wedding season and I can’t wait! I will be adding some new artists to the team to prepare for the larger bridal parties. I have very high standards so I make sure to bring only the best artists to help.

I am also going to be offering hair accessories available to purchase for the wedding day. I am currently adding to my collection so there will be plenty of options!

As always, I am continuing education and practicing new styles and techniques so that I can be at the top of my game. I am constantly playing with new products too to make sure that my kit is comprised of only the best performing products.

Looking forward to the many new faces of 2019. Happy holidays everyone!

Santa Barbara Wedding Makeup & Hair

I am SO excited to share these beautiful images from Janelle and Ramien's summer wedding in Santa Barbara. I have known both of them since college (go Gauchos!) and was super excited/honored to do Janelle's hair and makeup for the big day!!

Bridal Hair & Makeup

Janelle wanted braids in her hair so to make it a little extra special we went with a double dutch braid half up style with wavy hair.

For her makeup, she left all of the details up to me! This was actually very exciting for me not only as a MUA who loves creative control but also as her friend who had been dying to do her makeup for a while now!

Janelle has gorgeous green eyes and a lot of freckles, which I love! I kept the coverage natural and airbrushed her face with Temptu S/B foundation. I corrected/brightened under the eyes with Makeup Forever Ultra HD concealer (R22 + R30 mixed). For her eyes I used one my favorite liquid eyeshadows by Stila in the color Jezebel for a rose gold shimmer on the lids. For lashes, I applied individual clusters. Finally, for the lips I went with a classic - Creme Cup from MAC!

Everything in the wedding turned out amazing and I couldn't be happier for them. Enjoy the rest of the photos by One Love Photography

Esther & Tyler

I am SO honored to have been a part of this special and absolutely beautiful celebration of Esther and Tyler. Esther is my sister in law, and she and Tyler have been a part of our family for years. Not only was I asked to be a bridesmaid, but I was in charge of hair and makeup for the majority of our bridal party! I had an amazing day from the morning getting them ready, to the partying afterwards!

The wedding took place in the most romantic setting in the woods of Los Gatos, CA. The ceremony was truly magical! Music played throughout the trees as we watched Esther descend the steps to meet Tyler, her dress glittering in the light with every step. Between Esther and Tyler, and the guests who all clearly love them so much, the tears were almost non stop! WATERPROOF makeup is a must in these situations!

Wedding Makeup & Hair

For Esther's bridal makeup, I used my trusty Kett Fixx Creme foundations, correctors, and blushes to create a long lasting, waterproof finish. Esther loves neutrals and earth tones, and prefers a very natural hair and makeup look. I used my Viseart matte neutral eyeshadow palette to add subtle depth to her eyes. I then applied a thin layer of waterproof black gel eyeliner to the upper lash line and smoked it out for a softer look. For her lashes, we opted for some individual lashes, focusing mostly on the outer corners to give a subtle, cat-eye like lift. For her hairstyle, we created long lasting loose waves by setting them ahead of time.

Once the look was complete and she put on her dress, I had to stand back in awe! She was such a stunning bride!!

Makeover and photo shoot in Orange County with model Jhoanne

Last fall I moved back to Orange County from Texas after being away for six years. The weather is so refreshing and the beautiful scenery is endless, which makes me want to be outside all the time! I met recently with model Jhoanne (also from Orange County) to do an outdoor photo shoot right in my corner of Laguna Hills. The natural setting makes for a great backdrop to the photos.

Makeup - Earth Tones

Jhoanne is obviously gorgeous and I can't get enough of her smile!! For her eye makeup, I used some Yaby pearl paints and eyeshadows in green, gold, and warm brown colors to go along with the surrounding earth tones. I applied some extra long lashes to really lift and open the eyes. For her blush and lips I chose fairly natural colors - Rimmel nude lipliner with a little Mac creme cup lipstick in the center, and Mac Melba blush on the cheeks. To create a soft glow on the cheeks, I added Becca's highlighter in Champagne Pop

BOLD Dark Blue Eyeshadow - Makeup and Photography by Veronica

In my spare time I have been working on improving my photography skills. Here are some photos from a recent session with this lovely model Seinne. Like me, she also an OC local!

I wanted to try a look that was new for her, so we went with this dramatic dark blue/purple smoked out eyeshadow with a little sparkle. I placed individual lashes for a "less fake" but FULL fringe. Her skin was pretty flawless to begin with; I just helped to bring out her skin to a smooth, almost buttery finish using my favorite Kett Fixx creme correctors and foundations. The glow on her cheeks was achieved using MAC soft n gentle. To get that super shiny lip, I mixed some Mehron metallic gold powder with OCC clear lip tar.

I hope you enjoy the photos! Will be posting more from recent shoots soon!

Bridal Makeup

I love doing bridal makeup! Making the bride feel her most beautiful and confident on a day she will always remember is so important to me. I get to witness and be a part of those precious moments before the bride is about to walk down the aisle, surrounded by her family and closest friends.

The photos below are from one of my beautiful brides, Bree.  She had done a bridal trial before her wedding, so she was able to test out the makeup look. By the time her wedding day arrived, she had decided to change the eye shadow colors slightly to include more purple tones (which brought her eye color out even more!)

Bridal Party Makeup

Wedding makeup for Mother of the Groom and family.

Here are some photos from my last wedding I worked on in Texas, right before leaving for California! I did the makeup for all of the ladies in the photos, and hair was done by Erica Marni Edwards (based out of Houston).

Some of them chose to have their makeup airbrushed, while others did not. I love working with both traditional and airbrush makeup and can achieve similar results with both. Some people don't like the experience of feeling air blowing on their face, while others find it refreshing.  If you are a bride wondering which way to go, a bridal trial is a good way to test both out.

Engagement Photo Makeup and Hair - Bridal Makeup Artist Orange County

Do you need a bridal trial?

Sometimes I get asked this question, and my answer will always be, no you don't need one (I feel confident that I can make you look amazing no matter what), but I recommend one for the best possible experience. Not only is it a good way for the bride to feel confident about her makeup/hair leading up to the big day, but it allows me as the artist to analyze what worked and what could be improved. I really do take my time and thoroughly plan and prepare how to make each bride look the best she possibly can.

When your planning every detail of your wedding, why leave the makeup out? Especially if you aren't used to wearing makeup, having a bridal trial is a great way to see what makeup you're comfortable with. My client, Ria, chose to have her engagement photo session serve as a bridal trial. She was not accustomed to wearing much makeup, but wanted some bold colors for her photos. Even though she wanted some of the colors to be different for her wedding day, we were able to establish the foundation to her look such as complexion, eyebrows, and face contours. These are all details you may not think of if you aren't a regular makeup wearer, but are essential to creating that flawless face. For her hair, we pulled it all up into a simple updo with curls.

She ended up with exactly what she wanted and I think she looked beautiful! Enjoy the pictures!
